Dental Assistant Instructors

Dr. Ronald A. Cimaglio President Dr. Cimaglio is the President of the Northeast Ohio Dental Assistant Academy. He had over thirty years of experience in the practice of family dentistry and has helped thousands of people maintain their dental health. In 2003, Dr. Cimaglio opened his current practice, Comfort Dental at Creekside Commons in Mentor, Ohio. Dr. Cimaglio has special training in computerized dentistry (Cerec) and Invisalign (invisible braces). Throughout his career, Dr. Cimaglio has helped over 10,000 people improve their dental health. When Dr. Cimaglio isn’t working, you can always find him on the nearest golf course!

Lynda Humbert, CDA Director of Education Lynda is both an Instructor and the Director of Education for the Northeast Ohio Dental Assistant Academy. She recently became a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience in dentistry with her students. After graduating from CIDMA (Cleveland Institute of Medical/Dental Assistants) six years ago, she began her career as a Dental Assistant at Comfort Dental at Creekside Commons with Dr. Cimaglio. Lynda and her new husband, Bob, recently purchased a home in Montville where they enjoy hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes on their ten acres.

Mindy Mallett, CDA, EFDA School Director Mindy is the School Director for the Northeast Ohio Dental Assistant Academy. She is a lifelong Lake County resident, and graduated from Gilmour Academy and Lake Erie College with a degree in English. Mindy began her dental career in 1994 as an assistant to Dr. Cimaglio. She quickly advanced to Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and then had special training at Case Western Reserve University to become a licensed Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA). Still working with Dr. Cimaglio, Mindy is now the Office Manager as well as an EFDA for Dr. Cimaglio’s Practice, Comfort Dental at Creekside Commons. Mindy’s interests outside dentistry include volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio, Painesville Area Habitat for Humanity and the Lake County Historical Society. Mindy, and her yellow Labrador, Buddy, reside in Concord.

Vanessa Yates Instructor Vanessa is an Instructor for the Northeast Ohio Dental Assistant Academy and enjoys helping people get started in the profession she loves.. Vanessa joined Dr. Cimaglio’s team in early 2003, after graduating from Perry High School and finishing the Dental Assistant program at CIDMA (Cleveland Institute of Dental/Medical Assistants). She and her husband Brad, who married in June of 2004, live in a new condo in Painesville. Vanessa will be starting the dental hygiene program at Lakeland Community College in August 2005.
